Jean Loncle worked in various professions before becoming an underwater photographer. Assistant technician in sound and lighting in the French Alps, forest guide in the Amazon, construction manager in Madagascar, etc. Between two missions, he explored the world on foot: the Andes mountain range for 5 months, crossing the Atacama desert in Chile, the Nepalese part of the Himalayas, the Moroccan Atlas. In 2005, he left for Cambodia to settle down as a photojournalist. He stayed there for several years to document the daily lives of the inhabitants of Southeast Asia. In 2012, he got his first underwater housing in order to follow the fishermen of the village of Manompana, in Madagascar, while freediving. Born in Saint Malo, a land of sailors, he then returned to the ocean and noted the damage caused by human activities. A few years later, he decided to photograph only the big blue and its inhabitants.
Tatiana started photography in her home country, Madagascar, at a very young age. Through her travels in Australia, Indonesia, and India, she likes to share this passion with artistic or journalistic shots. Her meeting with Jean was decisive in her adventure as an underwater photographer. She then learned the different techniques related to aquatic requirements and acquired professional equipment. Today, Tatiana has several strings to her bow: photographer, yoga teacher, diving professional (PADI Divemaster) and Community Manager. She manages to combine her profession with her different passions. Her photos are used in particular to communicate on underwater projects and to illustrate reports for the OCEANA magazine co-created with Jean, her life partner.
